Mrs. King’s class discovered the magic of plant propagation by rooting pothos cuttings in water and planting their very own houseplants to take home.

Here in Twin Valley, that excitement hit close to home.
TVMS 5th- and 6th-grade students recently connected with Captain Sunita Williams, is a U.S. Navy captain, helicopter pilot, and record-setting NASA astronaut who has spent 608 days in space and completed 9 spacewalks. She shared what life is really like aboard the International Space Station and how her work helps prepare for future Moon and Mars missions—just like Artemis II.
This incredible opportunity grew from a student connection and turned into a live virtual visit, inspiring curiosity, questions, and big dreams about space.
From our classrooms to the cosmos, the future is bright! Thank you, Captain Williams, for continuing to support our students at TVSD by sharing your knowledge and experiences.

For the past seven years, Claudia has made an incredible impact as a Learning Support Teacher at Twin Valley Middle School, driven by her belief that every student deserves someone who believes in them and empowers them to succeed.
As a certified Wilson Reading teacher and reading specialist, Claudia uses data-driven instruction and targeted interventions to help students grow in literacy while building confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.
But what truly sets Claudia apart is her heart. Claudia’s administrators describe her as “passionate about kids, a true advocate, a great mentor, and deeply connected with families.” She truly embodies the spirit of the Annie Sullivan Award through the care and compassion she gives to her community.
Congratulations, Claudia, on this well-deserved nomination!

Charlotte is currently completing her internship at Robeson Preschool, where she supports instruction in a three-year-old classroom. Through this experience, she is gaining valuable, hands-on insight into early childhood education, working with children from toddlers through pre-kindergarten.
Director Julia Bonds shared, “Charlotte is always happy to be here, and both the children and staff love her. Her classroom management skills are excellent, and she is a natural teacher. She quickly became an important part of the teaching team, and her future in education is clearly a perfect fit.”
Charlotte reflected on her experience, saying, “I love my internship because I get to watch the kids learn and grow every day. I enjoy seeing each child’s excitement and curiosity, and I learn so much by observing how teachers handle different situations.” This fall, she will attend Kutztown University to pursue a degree in Elementary and Special Education—an exciting next step toward a bright future.
Congratulations, Charlotte!

Throughout the day, each class traveled around the building to meet local community members and learn about a wide variety of careers. From hands-on activities to engaging conversations, students gained meaningful insight into different professions and what it takes to succeed in them.
These memorable experiences have the power to spark curiosity and inspire future career paths. A big thank you to all of the presenters, volunteers, staff, and students who made this day such a success!
