I am excited to announce that TVMS is expanding our Esports programming to include 5th and 6th grade students! Minecraft Club is beginning next Wednesday (February 11th). Minecraft club is an opportunity for students to grow social skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills they play MinecraftEDU and undertake various build challenges inside of that game. While this season all build challenges will be contained within the club, next fall we are planning on competing against other schools in a build competition organized by the Pennsylvania Scholastic Esports League (PSEL website)
MinecraftEDU is the educational version of the popular game Minecraft, which includes built-in educational experiences as well as rigorous safety measures, ensuring that students can only interact with each other inside of the district-managed domain.
The club will take place from February 11th through March 25th. The time is from 3:15-4:30, so students will need a ride home. More information can be found on the parent permission form. You are welcome to print a copy, or students can get one by stopping by my classroom. I also plan to hand forms out during lunch on Monday. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at glerch@tvsd.org. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Best regards,
