#FeatureFriday: In a thrilling display of knowledge and teamwork, Twin Valley High School emerged victorious at the annual Berks WorldQuest Competition, held this past Tuesday at Reading Area Community College. Facing off against 19 other teams from nine different schools, Twin Valley outperformed the competition and secured their place at the National Academic WorldQuest Competition in Washington, D.C., this April 27th -29th .
The WorldQuest Competition, a rigorous international affairs challenge sponsored by the World Affairs Councils of America, tests students on their knowledge of global issues, current events, and international relations. Throughout the event, teams answered complex questions covering topics such as global economy, U.S. foreign policy, and climate change.
Twin Valley’s team was led by returning Sophmores Benjamin Erickson, Catherine Paine and Serphina Ware, along with new member Freshman Ethan Jordan. Their victory marks a significant achievement, as last year they finished in 5th place.
“We are so proud of our students,” said Twin Valley’s advisor Christian Murray. “They dedicated countless hours to studying and preparing, and their commitment truly paid off. We can’t wait to see them represent our School and Berks County on the national stage.”
The team will now turn its focus to the National Academic WorldQuest Competition in Washington, D.C., where they will compete against top teams from across the country. The event offers students the opportunity to showcase their expertise while engaging with diplomats, scholars, and other global affairs experts.
With their victory, Twin Valley High School will return to the National competition for the first time since 2021, and Berks County will be cheering them on as they take their talents to the national stage this April.

Heroes in Action!
#RaiderRecognition: Twin Valley School District proudly recognizes Mr. Mike Miller and Mrs. Natalie Giuseppe for organizing the High School Heroes program.
The High School Heroes program provides Twin Valley High School students with the opportunity to visit our elementary schools, where they lead lessons on social skills and build meaningful connections across grade levels. These visits are a favorite for younger students, especially with exciting events like Field Day at the end of the year. Pictured are Robeson students with their very own ‘heroes’!

#FeatureFriday: This week, the Twin Valley High School Select Chorus, String Quartet, and String Ensemble had the exciting opportunity to perform at the Harrisburg Capitol as part of PMEA’s Music in Our Schools Month program. Not only did these talented musicians showcase their skills, but they also enjoyed a complimentary tour of the Capitol and had the chance to meet with our State Representatives.

As a reminder, Twin Valley School District will be closed on Monday, March 10, 2025. There will be no school for students.

March 3-7 celebrates School Breakfast Week! A big thank you to our dedicated food service staff who went above and beyond to make this week special for our students.
With the theme 'Clue In', students were invited to play detective and explore all the possibilities of a nutritious breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, fueling students for a successful day of learning and growth. By exploring a variety of nutritious and delicious options, students learned the benefits of starting their day with energy and focus.
From 'Mystery Breakfast' offerings to festive cafeteria decorations, our TVSD Food Services team brought loads of excitement to the table. Some delicious highlights this week included the French Toast Station, Yogurt Parfait Day, Breakfast Burritos, Fruit Smoothie Station, and more!

Hands-on learning at Honeybrook Elementary Center! Mrs. Goldberg's Kindergarten class had a farm-fresh adventure today, harvesting cucumbers from their flex farm. HBEC Principal, Mr. Nate Bentley, joined in the fun, helping with the harvest and leading a lesson on stems, roots, and more. The students loved tasting the fruits of their labor and even took home their very own homegrown veggies!

In celebration of Public Schools Week, we honor the heart of our district: the educators, students, and communities that contribute to the success of our public schools.

Twin Valley students Thomas Barr, Kevin Bolt, Daniel Cummings, Aleah Heiland, Alex Johnson, Jade Kuhn, Aidan Long, AJ Loyd, Timothy Shannon, Carson Toothman, and Justin Weist participated today in the 3rd Annual Engineering Jam, hosted by Alvernia University. The event included a total of 180 students from around the county, working in teams of 4-6 members.
This year’s challenge was to design and build a catapult using provided materials to launch a rubber ball in three different challenges: distance, accuracy, and a "castle challenge" in which the catapult had to knock down specific structural components. Students had 1.5 hours to design and construct their devices from the supplied materials.
In an interesting twist, students were also given coins that could be exchanged for additional materials 30 minutes into the build or redeemed at the end for extra points.
Thomas Barr, Daniel Cummings, Aidan Long, AJ Loyd, Timothy Shannon, and Justin Weist’s team tied for 3rd place out of approximately 30 teams!
The event was organized by Alvernia’s engineering staff and students, with judging provided by sponsor First Energy. Congratulations to all participants in this prestigious event!

#RaiderPride: In collaboration with school counselor Christine Forney, several 3rd and 4th grade students at Honey Brook Elementary Center packed snack bags for Meals on Wheels as part of a kindness initiative.
Meals on Wheels supports over 5,000 community-based programs nationwide, working to combat senior hunger and isolation. We are thankful for the opportunity for our students to contribute to this important cause within our local community.

#FeatureFriday: Poetry and Valentine's Day go hand-in-hand. Students in Mrs. Smith's 4th grade classroom at Robeson Elementary Center explored the world of poetry, writing original poems and participating in a collaborative 'gallery walk' to read and offer thoughtful feedback on their peers' work. A wealth of artistic expression and creativity was on display from our talented young poets. Way to go!
